Introducing Les Culp Outdoors

COMPANY BACKGROUND

An organization dedicated to life in the outdoors and the conservation, preservation and rehabilitation of Canada’s natural resources. Les Culp Outdoors is a new company based out of Burk’s Falls. Ontario, Canada.

Established in 2004 as a web page for avid outdoorsman Les Culp Jr. The purpose of Les Culp Outdoors is to promote participation in outdoor sports and activities, for individuals new and experienced to life in the outdoors.

Les Culp Outdoors evolved into a small internet based web community for outdoorsman in July of 2006, allowing Les to keep in touch with friends in the outdoor community and readers of various articles written for outdoor industry publications.

2007 will mark another mile stone for Les Culp Outdoors, as we

introduce our first line of fishing tackle to go along with the educational material found promoting participation in outdoor sports at lesculpoutdoors.com

      OUR MISSION

TO BE CANADA’S #1 LEADING SOURCE OF OUTDOOR EDUCATIONAL MEDIA AND EQUIPMENT, WHILE CONTRIBUTING TO THE GROWTH, REREHABILITATION AND CONSERVATION OF OUR NATURAL RESOURCES.

FOR THE PRESENT AND FUTURE OUTDOORSMEN AND WOMEN OF TOMORROW.

CURRENT SITUATION

In a 1996 survey published by Environment Canada, on the importance of nature to Canadians. This major survey found that the natural wealth of Canada enhances the lives of 20 million Canadians each year. (86.6% of the population over the age of 15).

Of these 20 million Canadians, each will take part in one or more outdoor related activities each year with expenditures reaching $11.0 billion.

In some outdoor activities, (fishing in particular) it was found that mere interest was almost twice the actual participation level.

In our experience we have isolated 3 major areas as to why these individuals fail to take the next step in participating in these areas of interest. They are as follows.

1) Basic education on the specified outdoor activity.

2) Knowledge on obtaining the appropriate gear and where to

use this equipment.

3) Knowing/meeting individuals who already participate in these

activities.

Les Culp Outdoors will address all 3 issues by providing the individual with free articles and video available on the Les Culp Outdoors website, as well as offer specific equipment on our online store along with listing other locations to obtain equipment, and finally, provide a family oriented outdoor community where individuals will be able to ask questions and receive answers along with meeting and sharing information with members who share the same interests.

While there are various sources of media and services that provide information to the individual in each of these 3 areas, there is no other entity in Canada to our knowledge that provides for all three of these areas to Canadians.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES / FUTUREPLAN

  • Introduce new line of plastic fishing lures under the Culpy’s brand name - Spring 2007

  • Find, acquire and maintain sponsorship to expand the Les Culp Outdoors family of outdoor products.
  • Begin research to expand Les Culp Outdoors into print media beginning with a quarterly publication.

About: Les Culp Jr.

An avid outdoorsman since the age of eight, Les Culp began a life in the outdoors traveling to Northern Ontario with his father Les Sr. a single parent with a love of the outdoors who would eventually relocate the family to the Almaguin area of central Ontario so that they may live amongst the lakes, rivers, streams and friends that they enjoyed the most.

Many a childhood memory was made traveling throughout Ontario to various competitive fishing events with family and friends during the spring and summer seasons, while hunting for whitetail deer, moose and upland game took priority of their other activities come October and November until the hard water season would visit them again in December.

Les began fishing competitive angling events sporadically through his teens until the completion of his education in Niagara Falls Ontario and with this out of the way, was able to return home to Burks Falls and again live the lifestyle he had chosen to raise a family of his own.

Les would meet his future wife Rayanne in the summer of 1994 and then marry in the spring of 1998. Still residing in Burks Falls they have two children together, Les Jr. age 9 and Randy age 7.

Les still competes in sport fishing events all be it at a more conservative rate since starting work on Les Culp Outdoors.

Most time is now spent on raising interest in an outdoor lifestyle, time on the water and creating new friendships, the goal being a higher awareness of the environment we live in and participation in outdoor activities to ensure their existence for generations to come.
